Brazilian wing-back Gilberto da Silva Melo has completed his move to Spurs following a number of sources incorrectly reporting that he had failed a medical at the club.

Gilberto joins us from Hertha BSC and has 27 caps for Brazil where he has played as a left back and a left winger. At 31 years old he will bring a wealth of experience to Spurs young back line and could act as an effective mentor for Gareth Bale.
