Teen Wonderkid Dos Santos

Spurs have today announced the signing of Mexican teenager Giovanni Dos Santos from Barcelona for a fee of ?4.7million. The fee may eventually rise to ?8.6million depending on the number of appearances he makes for the club.

Dos Santos is highly rated at the age of 19 and can operate as a striker or on the wings. He scored four times Barcelona last season including a hat-trick in their final game of the season against Real Murcia.

The teenager has signed a five year deal and explained what persuaded him to come to Spurs.

“I came here because of the passion of the fans, the size of the club and I can see us growing in the future.”

Manager Juande Ramos added: “If Giovani progresses as we hope, he will be a terrific player. I’m delighted.”
