Spurs Sign Gomes From PSV

Gomes In Action

Paul Robinson looks set to depart after Spurs boss Juande Ramos signed the goalkeeper who stopped his team progressing to the Quarter Finals of the UEFA Cup, Heurelho Gomes of PSV Eindhoven. Gomes, who saved Jermaine Jenas’ penalty to knock Spurs out of the cup, signs for an undisclosed amount.

He has an impressive record at PSV having kept a clean sheet in an amazing 60% of the matches he has played in. He has also had a few notable streaks of not conceding, once going 971 minutes between letting a goal in, that’s almost 11 whole games!

He is known to fans as the Octopus due to his large 6′4″ frame and extremely long arms.
