Darren Bent has finally completed his protractec transfer to Sunderland in a deal for an initial ?10million which could rise to ?16.5million depending on appearances and future performance at Sunderland.
Darren signed for us from Charlton Athletic in June 2007 but despite a decent return of 25 goals in 79 appearances he failed to settle at White Hart Lane and came under heavy scrutiny from fans and even manager Harry Redknapp lost his cool after a spectacular open goal miss against Portsmouth stating that even his wife could have scored that.
Bent has been capped four times by England.
A good player but not suitable to our style of play.
Good luck in the future Darren, I have no doubt he’ll score against us many times.
