Vectis Spurs are proud to announce "An Evening With Ossie and Mick". Your chance to meet and put a question to two genuine Spurs legends.

Ossie with the cup

Vectis Spurs are now in a position to announce the full details of the “Evening with …. “ that has been in the process of being organised for the last month or so. Previously you will have been informed that the guests were to be Ossie Ardiles & Steve Perryman. Unfortunately due to Steve’s commitments with Exeter City it became increasingly impossible to tie him down to a date, we therefore made further enquiries and were very pleased indeed to get Micky Hazard to agree to come in his place. Both Ossie and Micky are good friends to this day following their time at Tottenham together, which included both of them being members of the 1984 UEFA Cup team that beat Anderlecht in a penalty shoot out to win the trophy.

The evening is scheduled for Thursday 15th April 2010, from 7pm to 11pm at The Riverside Centre on the Quay in Newport on the Isle of Wight. The evening will be compared by Paul Belverstone, sports reporter on Meridian TV and ardent Tottenham fan, he will conduct a small interview with our guests and then it will be your turn to ask the questions to our guests.

The venue will be arranged with a maximum of 18 round tables each sitting 10 per table. Once we have a full list of those attending we will be formulating a table plan, this is due to the fact that the evening includes a hot 2 course meal and coffee served to the tables. There will also be the opportunity for you to have 1 piece of memorabilia to be signed by both of our guests together with the chance to have a photograph taken with them also we are restricting this so that neither, Ossie or Micky are put upon too much.

The evening will not be restricted to Vectis Spurs members, we are hoping the event will gain exposure via local newspapers and radio stations we have scaled the ticket pricing slightly to take into account non Vectis Spurs members being in attendance. Tickets are priced at £28 for current Vectis Spurs members with non members paying £35, children under the age of 16 will be £25. Please make all cheques payable to “Vectis Spurs” and send to Dave Duffy at the address on the order form, please also include a stamped addressed envelope so that he can return your tickets to you.

You must note that this event is admission by ticket only. There will also be the usual Vectis Spurs prize raffle with many, many items of signed Spurs memorabilia, so please bring your raffle money with you also. The committee of Vectis Spurs are working extremely hard to make this what we hope to be the first of many really special nights. We would like very much to see you all there and to make Ossie and Micky feel very welcome to our beautiful island and to let them experience the very warm welcome that only the Isle of Wight Tottenham supporters can give. So please do support your local supporters club, come along and be a part of the spectacular event on April 15th!!

To book your ticket ring Dave on 01983 718151 or 07890 670009

A liveblog of Vectis Spurs' trip to the Burnley game at White Hart Lane.

11:56:07 AM: 22 of us on the way to the game today. General consensus seems to be a comfortable win although a few people aren’t confident of clean sheet

11:57:56 AM: Quick discussion of lineups over breakfast. Crouch or Keane?? Krankcar or Bale?? Maybe even Lennon on the left and Bentley on the right?

12:17:57 PM: We’ve taken a wrong turn into Enfield. Now going back on ourselves. Something new is always fun.

1:27:50 PM: 10% off in the Spurs shop today, absolutely packed.

2:49:26 PM: Blazing sun and a first home start for Kranjcar. COME ON YOU SPURS!!

2:58:10 PM: Not a lot of Burnley supporters today. Thier end looks half empty. http://twitpic.com/j79qe

3:02:26 PM: Keane through early on but given offside.

3:11:19 PM: Bit if confusion between Ekotto and Bassong, well cleared by Cudicini.

3:12:09 PM: Keane with a good chance, well saved.

3:17:05 PM: Looking shaky at the back today.

3:21:11 PM: Penalty for spurs. Keane sends the keeper the wrong way. Tottenham 1 – 0 Burnley

3:26:53 PM: Burnley score but it’s offside.

3:34:28 PM: Jenas with a deflected goal.

4:01:56 PM: Nugent tests Cudicini as ref blows for half time. Kranjcar playing brilliantly. Defoe squandered three decent chances.

4:15:42 PM: Defoe misses again and immediately goes off injured. Crouch is on.

4:37:06 PM: Difficult second half but Keane make it 3 nil.

4:53:36 PM: and minutes later he makes it a hat-trick.

4:55:20 PM: Gareth Bale now on to win his first league game.

5:16:17 PM: I said this morning that Robbie Keane shouldn’t play…. this is me eating humble pie, he’s scored four.

5:20:18 PM: Briliant day, fourth place!

5:30:30 PM: Madness on the roads here. Traffic not moved an inch in more than 5 minutes and now people are turning this one way street into a 2 lane.

5:33:13 PM: “two stupid bloody women” and with that comment Terry goes straight across the roundabout giving the police women a polite wave

Craig said ?It is unfortunate that I genuinely no longer have the time to dedicate to this job and therefore would like to hand it to a member who will carry out the required tasks successfully rather than I mess it up. I will miss it in the early days but I know it?s for the best?.

The role of club Treasurer from September 1st onwards will be Grahan Osborne. All future payments will need to be sent to Graham, contact details will be made available in due course.

Darren Bent has finally completed his protractec transfer to Sunderland in a deal for an initial ?10million which could rise to ?16.5million depending on appearances and future performance at Sunderland.

Darren signed for us from Charlton Athletic in June 2007 but despite a decent return of 25 goals in 79 appearances he failed to settle at White Hart Lane and came under heavy scrutiny from fans and even manager Harry Redknapp lost his cool after a spectacular open goal miss against Portsmouth stating that even his wife could have scored that.

Bent has been capped four times by England.

Tottenham have agreed a deal with Portsmouth to sign striker Peter Crouch.

Peter Crouch In Training

Peter Crouch, who began his professional career with Tottenham, has made a return to the club almost nine years after being sold to Queens Park Rangers. Crouch joins Spurs from Portsmouth for a fee belived to be in the range of ?9million.

Crouch, who is the tallest outfield player in the Premiership, has now become the most expensive English striker of all time with combined transfer fees of ?35million paid for him over his career. Clubs to splash out on the striker include Southampton, Aston Villa and Liverpool, aswell as his time with QPR and Portsmouth.

Not only is he rejoining the club but he is also rejoining manager Harry Redknapp and striker Jermain Defoe with whom Crouch forged a successful partnership for Portsmouth, scoring 11 goals in 38 Premiership appearances last season.

Crouch is happy to be returning although there aren’t many faces that remain from his previous time in North London.

“I was only a young kid when I was here before and a long way from the player I am now.?I think Ledley is the only player still here from when I was here before. I’m looking forward to seeing him again because I’ve always kept in touch with him all those years.?I remember watching the likes of Ginola, Anderton, Sheringham and Ferdinand every week on the terraces with Ledley and it’s great to finally be getting the chance to play for this Club.”

Harry Redknapp was extremely happy with the signing saying “He’s a big lad, he holds the ball up well, he brings other players into the game and naturally with his size he’s always a threat in the air.?He will be a big, big player for us, a terrific signing.?I know what he’s all about and as well as everything going forward, he can also make a difference when we’re defending set-pieces.”

Harry Redknapp has bought in tenacious midfielder Wilson Palacios to strengthen the Spurs midfield.

Tottenham have agreed a ?12million deal with Wigan Athletic for the transfer of powerful midfielder Wilson Palacios. Honduran international Palacios has only been at Wigan for 12 months but he has made 41 appearances in ?that time and established himself as a top Premiership midfielder with reported interest from Liverpool and Bayern Munich in recent weeks.

Palacios will have to wait for a work permit but that should be a formality for a player of his stature. Palacios was on loan at Birmingham for six months last season on the advice of Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger who had the midfielder on trial at Arsenal but decided against signing him.

Palacios’ family have hit headlines at homes in Honduras after his younger brother Edwin was kidnapped in October 2007. He has not been seen since and the identity of his kidnappers remain unknown.
