As of this morning Juande Ramos has taken over as head coach of Tottenham Hotspur FC. Ramos’ first game will be the Carling Cup tie at home to Blackpool. Ramos has won successive UEFA Cups at Sevilla alongside a European Supercup and the Spanish Supercup with victories over Real Madrid and Barcelona.

It became clear during Thursday evening’s match with Getafe that Martin Jol’s time as manager, after months of speculation, had come to an end. Rumours began at half time and before the match had ended it had been confirmed.

The draw for the fourth round of the Carling Cup was made this afternoon. We will be welcoming Blackpool to White Hart Lane on the week commencing the 29th of October. Blackpool are lying 10th in the Championship at present and defeated Southend United in extra-time to progress to the fourth round.
